Hardwoods
The most common species are oak, chestnut, eucalyptus, cedar, beech and walnut. Hardwoods, also called hardwoods, have a woody structure, more complex than that of conifers. It has a wide variety of colours ranging from pale to dark brown. In general, they are not very porous woods, which are difficult to impregnate. They contain extracts, mainly carbohydrates, with some species such as oak and chestnut being very rich in tannins. These tannins can generate grey or black stains on the finish if they are not blocked by using anti-tannin fillers. It is common to find them in beams and structures of old houses, furniture and interior floorboards.
Tropical
In this group there is a great variety of species from three different origins: Africa (Iroko, Bolondo, Dussié...), South America (Ipé, Palisandro, Balsa...) and South Asia (mainly Teak). However, the most common species in our environment are Iroko, Bolondo, Ipe and Teak. Tropical woods form a characteristic group. They have an internal tissue structure similar to that of hardwoods and are not very porous. They have a darker colour range than softwoods and hardwoods. They are very sensitive to the sun's rays, not very impregnable, very resistant and rich in extracts, exudates and tannins, which can cause problems. It is common to find them in facades and coverings of modern constructions, pool decks, terraces and gardens.
LIST OF WOOD SPECIES
Woods are commonly divided into three groups according to their general characteristics: Coniferous, Hardwood and Tropical. Depending on their typology and use, they require different treatment for their care, which should as a general rule be simple and easy to apply.
Conifers
The most common species are Scots Pine, Oregon Pine and Spruce. Softwoods, also called resinous or softwoods, have a simplified porous structure, marked annual rings and a regularly uniform pale colour. They are generally impregnable and rich in resins, essential oils and tannins, factors that can contaminate the surface and impair the adhesion of coatings. This makes cleaning with suitable solvents to remove extracts and exudates highly recommended.
Wood
The leaves are composed of laminated wood profiles in a square of 90x56. This more modern technique, used from the second half of the 20th century, consists of joining, gluing on the flat face, different boards with a thickness of about 3 cm, achieving pieces of great thickness and unlimited length. Laminated wood is a material that can be curved with relatively small radii. It perfectly resists moisture, without producing cracks or deformations. Main advantages of laminated and glued wood:
- Compact block with clean outer faces.
- Drying guarantee, as they are pieces of smaller section.
- Maximum dimensional stability, avoiding torsion of the pieces.
- Lower loss of raw material.
- More homogeneous and defect-free product.
- Improvement of dimensional stability compared to solid wood.
- Greater natural durability.
- Greater stability against fire.

Double Glazed Insulated Glass 6/16/4
Double glazed glass consists of a set formed by two or more glass panes, separated by chambers of dehydrated air, creating an AISLAGLAS/CLIMALIT with excellent acoustic and thermal properties, greatly reducing condensation on the glass. The glass also significantly contributes to improving comfort inside the home or workplace. The wide variety of glass types and their multiple functions fully satisfy the requirements of today's comfort. In windows, the glass composition can be chosen based on the needs of each installation, which are mainly:
- Thermal insulation: Energy control and environmental protection.
- Acoustic insulation: Noise control.
- Solar protection: Light control.
- Security: Protection against the risk of physical damage and aggressions.
- Interior design: New models that allow for innovative designs.
Handle
The Harmony handles from the Maco brand are already a classic that adapts to both new and modern construction enclosures as well as old buildings in need of restoration. Their simple and fluid lines give each window a pleasant aesthetic. Available in various colors to match with wood. The handles are treated with a coating based on resins or aluminum.
We have different locking systems coupled to the handle to improve the security of our window:
- Handle with button that adds greater security to our window and allows locking and unlocking with a simple hand gesture.
- Handle with key, this type of handle is especially suitable in places where high security is required against window opening, such as hospitals, schools, public institutions.
Rubber Seals and Gaskets
The seals and gaskets incorporated into our window have been designed and perfected over more than 20 years. These designs have improved the wooden window product by providing greater insulation against water, air, dirt, and incorporating designs that are more durable over time and of higher quality. Manufactured in two different base materials, one with greater rigidity for the interior part and the other with foam for the exterior part. The main features include:
- Does not absorb water.
- Low thermal conductivity and acoustic transmission.
- Completely recyclable.
- High mechanical resistance.
- Compatibility with water-based paints.
- Optimal shape memory.
Water-Based Varnish
The water-based varnish process produces a full film, ensuring high resistance to water, vapor, ultraviolet rays, and aging. With a high bathing capacity that allows for improving the definition of pores in hardwoods and reducing fiber swelling in softwoods. The transparency at the moment of the varnish film allows to see the wood color.
There are many advantages of water-based varnish; it does not produce harmful emissions or unpleasant odors, it is very easy to apply, and it provides quality aesthetic results, offering great resistance to finishing.
With water-based varnish, volatile organic solvents are reduced, and efforts are made to eliminate and minimize all factors that may seriously affect people's health and cause irreversible damage to the environment.
Exterior water-based varnish contains pigments and UV filters that protect the wood support, preventing wood from losing color and eliminating the vitrification (flakes) of the varnish films.
It contains substances that prevent the proliferation of fungi and mold. Exterior water-based varnish undergoes rigorous testing in manufacturer laboratories according to UNI EN standards, resistance to blocking (prevents the varnish film from sticking when the leaf comes into contact with the frame), resistance to water droplets, natural exposure, resistance to accelerated aging, evaluation of vapor permeability.
Windows are treated with water-based varnish, applied by spraying, ensuring a thickness per layer, applied in several coats.
The provided warranties offer a durability between 7 and 10 years depending on the orientation of the facade where the window is installed.
